Project Management
To be able to manage projects, you will need to have the correct permissions, such as Project Manager. For more information, please refer to Global Permissions.
Projects are the primary items of TESTaide and as such are required for most features of the application. This document provides guidelines on how to create and manage your projects in the TESTaide application.
All projects are accessible from the TESTaide homepage which is reached by clicking either the TESTaide logo or the ‘Projects’ button on the header navigation menu.
Before proceeding with this guide, make sure to have logged in with an account with the correct permissions.

Creating a new project
On the TESTaide homepage, click the ‘Create Project’ button.
In the pop-up window, enter the following information.
Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom to complete the project creation.
Fields | Description |
---|---|
Project Type | The desired project type of the project. For more information regarding project types, refer to this guide. |
Project Key | Only uppercase letters or numbers are allowed for the project key. Note that the project key cannot be changed once the project has been created. |
Project Name | The maximum length for the description is 50 characters. |
Description (Optional) | The maximum length for the description is 1000 characters. |
Tags (Optional) | Tags are used to quickly search and find items via the search bar on the header navigation. A tag is created by entering a string of characters followed by pressing the ‘Enter’ key on the keyboard. |
Project Leader (Optional) | The manager of the project. Only one can be selected. |
Jira Project Key (Optional) | Jira project key with requirements related to the generated TESTaide project. |
Start Date (Optional) | Project start date |
End Date (Optional) | Project end date |
Environment Name | The desired test environment(s) of which the project can use to execute test plans. You are able to select multiple environments for a project. |
Editing an existing project

On the TESTaide homepage, select the project you want to make changes to.
On the project page, click the ‘More’ button on the top right of the page and when the drop-down menu appears, select the ‘Edit Project’ option.
In the pop-up window, edit the project information and click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom to save changes.
Note that the ‘Project Key’ cannot be edited.
Deleting a project
To be able to remove a project you must first delete all test plans, test suites, and test cases within the project.

On the TESTaide homepage, select the project you want to remove.
On the project page, click the ‘More’ button on the top right of the page. When the drop-down menu appears, select the ‘Delete Project’ option.
When the pop-up window appears, click the 'OK' button to complete the deletion.
