Test Execution

This document explains how Test Execution can be accomplished with a predefined test plan, which may include one more more of test cases and steps.

Pre-conditions

It is essential to gain a "TC Execute" role in prior to be able to execute tests. You may refer to User Management for detail.

To be able to execute a test plan, its "Status" should become TESTING . Without this transition, no testing execution can take place because it is not visible in "Test Execution" menu in side bar.

At least one or more of test plans should be created in prior to perform the test execution of it, which should also include one or more of test cases and test steps within. Please make sure of it, otherwise, the test execution may inappropriately behave.

Manage tests for execution

Add Regression tests to a test plan which will be executed

Followings show necessary steps to add regression(s) (tests) to a test plan, which is supposed to be executed

  1. Move into a project by clicking "Project" menu at the top, choose a project by clicking either a key or project name from projects listed
  2. Click "Test Execution" from the left side bar
  3. Choose and click a Key of a test plan from a list for its execution
  4. Once a detailed information page for executing the chosen test plan appears, click an "Add Regression" button at the top right corner of the named panel,"Regression List" at the bottom
    • Be aware that if there is no test plan that includes one or more test cases within, then the button,  "Add Regression" would not be visible and hence test execution can not be accomplished
  5. A "New Regression" dialog now appears. Please fill in the form and press a "Save" button

Execute tests

Please follow steps below in order to actually execute a test planned that includes (a) test case(s) within

  1. Move into a project by clicking "Project" menu at the top, choose a project by clicking either a key or project name from projects listed
  2. Click "Test Execution" from the left side bar
  3. Choose and click a Key of a test plan from a list for its execution
  4. From the "Regression List" panel at the bottom, choose and run a regression test by clicking a "Run TestCase" button aligned with a column called "Run"
  5. The first test case may appear. Look at the panel at the bottom, "Test Step List" and choose your "Action", either "PASS" or "FAIL" based on the actual result of each test step listed.
    • Please note that "All PASS" button located at the right hand side of the upper panel, once it is clicked, all listed test steps at the bottom for this particular test case will get PASSED. This button is there for users' convenience.
  6. Once "Action", i.e., "PASS" or "FAIL" has taken place for all test steps, move to the next test case by clicking "Next" button at the top right corner of the page.
  7. Now the second test case appears. Do the same as the step 5 and 6 till evaluation for all test cases is done.
  8. Once all done, test results can be found in "Test Execution" list
