Permisson Management

This document is to share information about permission management in terms of system administrators' view in odi test manager


Pre-conditions

  • "System Admin" permission is required for Code management.
  • Either "Project Manager" or "System Admin" can be assigned, which means normal users other than that would be NOT particularly required to be assigned with


Permission Management

Add Permission

Please follow steps below to assign either "Project Manager" or "System Admin" to a particular user

  1. Click "Admin" from the topmost menu
  2. Click "Permission Mgmt." from the left side bar
  3. Once "Permission Mgmt." page appears, click a "Add Permission" button at the top right corner
  4. Once "Add Permission" dialog appears, permit a user with following:
    1. Role
      1. Project Manager
        A project manager is able to create a Project and Environment
      2. System Admin
        Whole system can be managed by a system admin
    2. User
      1. choose a user to be assigned with the selected permission
  5. Press "Save"


Delete Permission

Please follow steps below to purge permission from a user 

  1. Click "Admin" from the topmost menu
  2. Click "Permission Mgmt." from the left side bar
  3. Find a user whose permission is no longer needed and therefore to be purged. If needed, the user can be searched from a search bar at the top right corner (not from "Tag Search" bar) 
  4. Press a "bin icon" for the selected user. Press "OK" button when asked with a message
