This document provides how to manage test steps in test cases.

To manage test plans, you need a permission such as Project Manager, Create Plan/TC … . For more information, please refer to Global Permissions.

Create Test Step

Test Step can be created if the test case type is manual.

To create test steps:

  1. In the ‘Test Step’ pop-up window, enter the following information.

    • Test Case : Test Case Name(Test Case Key). (Fixed)

    • Title* : The maximum length is 50 characters.

    • Test Step* : Test Step to be tested

    • Test Data : Required data for testing

    • Expected Result

  2. Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom to complete the test step creation.

Edit Test Step

To edit test steps:

  1. In TESTaide home, select a project that you want to edit test steps.

  2. Select the 'Test Cases' menu on the left sidebar.

  3. In the test case page, select a test case from the list you want to edit test steps.

  4. In the test step panel below, click the ‘Edit’ icon besides the test step you want to edit from the test step list.

  5. In the ‘Test Step’ pop-up window, edit the information you want.

  6. Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom to save changes.

📌 To change the order among test steps, click the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ icon besides the test step.


Delete Test Step

To remove test steps:

  1. In TESTaide home, select a project that you want to remove test steps.

  2. Select the 'Test Cases' menu on the left sidebar.

  3. In the test case page, select a test case from the list you want to edit test steps.

  4. In the test step panel below, click the ‘Remove’ icon besides the test step you want to delete from the test step list.

  5. When the deletion confirmation pop-up window appears, click the 'OK' button to complete the deletion.
