This document provides how to manage test cases.

To manage test plans, you need a permission such as Project Manager, Create Plan/TC … . For more information, please refer to Global Permissions.

TESTaide can generate test cases in the following ways.

(전구) Test Case

  • create test cases and add them to the test plan

  • copy test cases from other projects

  • create test cases with Excel import function

  • create test case

  • add existing test case

  • add existing test case which is in test suite

Create Test Case

To create test cases:

  1. In TESTaide home, select a project that you want to create test cases.

  2. Select the 'Test Cases' menu on the left sidebar.

  3. In the test case page, click the ‘Create Test Case’ button.

  4. In the test case creation page, enter the following information.

    • Category : Choose a predefined category of test case

    • Test Case Name* : The maximum length is 50 characters.

    • Test Case type : Choose between manual and auto

    • Priority

    • Requirement : Requirements defined in Jira (multiple inputs possible)

    • Tags : You can search for test cases at the top Tag Search with that tag. (multiple inputs possible)

    • Pre-Condition : Precondition for testing

    • Attachments

  5. If you click the 'Save' button on the top right, you will see the test step/script panel below.

  6. Click the ‘Create’ button in test step/script panel.

  7. Create step/script by referring to the link below according to the test case type.

📌 To add the test case you created to the test plan, refer to the ‘Add Test Case’ section of Test Cases in Test Case In Test Plan.


Copy Test Case From Other Projects

To copy test cases from other projects:

  1. In TESTaide home, select a project with test cases that you want to copy.

  2. Select the 'Test Cases' menu on the left sidebar.

  3. Select a test case you want to copy.

  4. In the test case detail page, click the ‘More’ button on the top right. When a pop-up menu appears, select ‘Copy’.

  5. In the ‘Copy Testcase’ pop-up window, select the project.

  6. Click the ‘Copy Test Case’ button at the bottom to complete copying the project.


Edit Test Case

To edit test cases:

  1. In TESTaide home, select a project that you want to edit test cases.

  2. Select the 'Test Cases' menu on the left sidebar.

  3. In the test case page, select a test case from the list you want to edit.

  4. In the test case detail page, edit the information you want.

  5. Click the 'Save' button on the top right to complete the test cases edition.


Delete Test Case

To remove test cases:

  1. In TESTaide home, select a project that you want to remove test cases.

  2. Select the 'Test Cases' menu on the left sidebar.

  3. In the test case page, select a test case from the list you want to remove.

  4. In the test case detail page, click the ‘More’ button on the top right. When a pop-up menu appears, select ‘Delete’.

  5. When the deletion confirmation pop-up window appears, click the 'OK' button to complete the deletion.

Test Case Name

To import test steps with Excel:

  1. In TESTaide home, select a project that you want to create test cases.

  2. Select the 'Test Cases' menu on the left sidebar.

  3. In the test case page, click the ‘More’ button on the top right. When a pop-up menu appears, select ‘Download excel template’.

  4. After downloading the Excel template, enter the following information.

    • Create a new test case

      • TC Key, Test Step must be entered.

    • Add test steps to test cases that was already created.

      • Enter Test Step below the upper test case.

      • When selecting a test case, select it together with the parent test case

  5. In the test case page, click the ‘More’ button on the top right. When a pop-up menu appears, select ‘Create Test Case by import Excel’.

  6. Select the Excel file to upload and click the 'Create Test Case by import excel' button.

  7. In excel Import page, select test cases you want to import and click the ‘Excel Import’ to complete the import.
