This document provides guidelines on how to create and manage test suites in the TESTaide applicationTESTaide provides the feature to create test suites where a suite is treated as a grouping of test cases. It is recommended to use test suites when you need to group test cases instead of using categories. The document provides guides to manage test suites.

To be able to manage test suites, you will need to have the correct permissions, such as Project Manager, Create Plan/TC … . For more information, please refer to Global Permissions. |
A test suite is treated as a grouping of test cases. It is recommended to use test suites when you need to group test cases together instead of using categories.
Note that even if a test case is contained in multiple test suites, the system will consider the test case as different units, operating them separately.

Creating a new test suite
To create a new test suite, follow these steps:

On Then simply, on the test suite page, click the ‘Create Test Suite’ button on the top-right corner of the page.
On the pop-up window, enter the following information.the required and any optional information and click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom to complete the test suite creation. Please refer to the table below for more information regarding the test case.

Edit an existing test suite
To edit test suites, follow these steps:

Suite Management
Once a test suite has been created, it will be listed in the table on the ‘Test Suites’ page together with any other suite previously created. You can view and manage the test suite by clicking on the key of the test suite from the table.
Editing an existing test suite
On the test suite detail page, click the ‘More’ button on the top-right of the page . When and when the drop-down menu appears, select the ‘Edit Suite’ option.
On the pop-up window, edit the test suite information and click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom to save changes.
Note that the ‘Project Key’ & ‘Test Suite Key’ cannot be edited

Deleting a test suite
To remove test suites, follow these steps:
On the TESTaide homepage, select the project that contains the suite that you want to remove.
Select the 'Test Suites' menu on the left sidebar.
From the list of test suites available, select the suite you want to remove.
In On the test suite detail page, click the ‘More’ button on the top right of the page . When and when the drop-down menu appears, select the ‘Delete Suite’ option.
When the pop-up window appears, click the 'OK' button to complete the deletion.
Add test cases to a test suite
To add test cases to a test suite, follow these steps:

Test Case Management
As test suites contain a grouping of test cases meant to correlate to each other for later use, this step requires that test cases have already been created. From the list of test suites, select the test suite you want to add test cases to.
Adding test cases to a test suite
On the test suite detail page, click the ‘Add Test Cases’ button on the top right.
On the TESTaide homepage, select the project that contains the test suite for which you want to delete test cases from.
Select the 'Test Suites' menu on the left sidebar.
On the pop-up window, select a any available test cases that you want to add to the suite .Click and then click the ‘Add Test Cases’ button to complete adding test cases.
Delete test cases from a test suite
To delete test cases from a test suite, follow these steps:
Make sure that there is a blue tick on the checkbox, otherwise, the test case will not be added to the suite.
You can also click on the checkbox on the first header column to select all of the test cases available for the project.
Deleting test cases from a test suite
From the list of test suites, select the test suite you want to delete test cases from.
In the test case panel below, click the ‘Remove’ icon besides the test case you want to delete from the test case list
When the deletion confirmation pop-up window appears, click the 'OK' button to complete the deletion.
Changing the test case ordering in a test suite
There Test cases are order within the test suite and there are two ways to change changing the order of test cases in a test suite, the suite: A) Dragging & Dropping or B) by using the Up & Down arrows:
A) Drag & Drop
To use the drag & drop feature, follow these steps
Click and hold the ☰ icon in front of the key of the test case you want to change the order of.
Drag the test case and drop it to on the desired location in the list.

B) Up & Down arrows
Alternatively, by clicking either the up or down arrow on the 'Action' column for a project, you are able to change the order respectively.
